Scorpio Management Services (Belfast) Ltd was established in 1996 by Syd McFarland with a view to filling a niche market for security and other related soft services.

Scorpio has a successful rapport with its clients and with the addition of a dynamic new management team a decision was made to expand and increase our business portfolio.

Scorpio provides static guards and mobile patrolling for a number of sites.  All staff are vetted to BS7858 and trained to SIA licensing standards by our qualified in-hose trainers.  We also provide Key Holding, Retail and Private Residential Security.

Having taken a strategic view of the market in line with the forthcoming SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licensing and Government Legislation it was decided that our initial business priority would be to develop and promote our Training Facility.  From here we could offer Level 1, 2 and 3 SIA Licensing courses and other options include Emergency First Aid (1 day), Health & Safety at Work (4 days).

Scorpio’s Facilities Development Department provides and manages a number of large contracts within Ireland including exhibition cleaning, housekeeping, litter picking and deep cleaning services.  We are also responsible for ‘before’ and ‘after’ cleans for a number of large outdoor concerts and events.

Scorpio maintains a comprehensive database of staff in all of the above fields.  This enables us to provide external agencies with staff that have the appropriate skill base as and when required.

The company has achieved ISO 9001:2000 and is a member of British Standards Institute.  We are also members of Skills for Security, National Open College Network, Sorensen Centre, BSIA and are currently awaiting City & Guilds approval.
